Hi, my name is Tiernan Doherty and currently I am a Passionist stationed in our community at Glen Osmond, South Australia. Originally I came from Melbourne, being born at Brunswick and spent my early childhood in Essendon (my AFL Footy team still) and Pascoe Vale South. I was educated by the Mercy Sisters at St. Fidelis, Moreland and later by the Christian Brothers at St Joseph’s, Pascoe Vale and later the senior College at North Melbourne. I thank the religious who taught me and the local parish clergy who inspired me to my vocation initially and for the family support I also received.
I can only express gratitude for the Passionists who have been part of my journey in formation and later priesthood. I have enjoyed a variety of ministries over the years, including, parish, retreats, youth ministry, teaching RE in the public schools (which I really enjoyed when I was younger), prison chaplaincy, chaplain in a number of De La Salle colleges and some internal ministries within the Passionist family. On the recreational side of life I enjoy walking, art, movies and reading things of historical nature. I have mainly lived in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide; with a short stint of some months in beautiful Brisbane.
